We have just received breaking news that the long awaited AOL/Time Warner merger was finalized last week. As a result, we've been told by WCW owner Ted Turner that unfortunately the AOL/Time Warner merger has ended WCW's television deal. This was totally out of the hands of WCW owner Ted Turner.
We've also learned more shocking news that WCW has now been put up for sale, and many people are making bids to purchase World Championship Wrestling at this time. There has been interest from DCW owner Ryu Hayabusa and also WWF owner Vince McMahon possibly purchasing the now defunct WCW organization. There's also a rumor going around that Shane McMahon may also try to purchase the company. There are a lot of people bidding for the purchase of WCW behind the scenes. The rumor is that the sale should be completed within the next 30 days. We'll keep you up to date on how all of this progresses.
