Now lets take a look at the match highlights as the WCW Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho defends his title against the Macho Man Randy Savage at WCW: "Royal Rumble 5."
The match started off very fast paced as the Macho Man rushed towards
Jericho in the opening parts of the match. The Macho Man charged towards
the champion, but Jericho was able to pull off a fast body slam on to
the Macho Man. Soon after, Macho Man, hit a double ax handle
slam on to Jericho from the top rope. Macho Man dominated much of
the match until around the 5 minute mark, when Jericho started to build
momentum when Jericho hit Macho Man with a devastating piledriver. A
lot of quick pin fall attempts were made by both wrestlers. Nearing the
8 minute mark, Jericho nailed Macho Man with his Triple Powerbombs,
but Jericho was only able to get a count of 2. The Macho Man was able
to hit a huge bulldog on Jericho at the 10:22 mark. Then, the Macho Man signaled that the end was near. Macho Man goes up to the top
rope and jumps halfway across the ring, nailing Jericho with his huge
elbow drop. The Macho Man pinned Chris Jericho for the victory at 10:37.
