(Note* — Scott Steiner was doing a TV show interview earlier in the week
when he said: "I could beat Brock Lesnar's ass so fast in a real fight.
I would break that dude's back if I got him in the Steiner Recliner!" We're taking note of this because Brock Lesnar made his debut at WCW:
"Royal Rumble 5" as a result of Scott Steiner's comments earlier in the
week. Now let's talk about the Goldberg vs. Scott Steiner match
highlights from WCW: "Royal Rumble 5."
Both men made their
entrances and the match began quickly. Scott Steiner immediately went for a
spear on Goldberg, but Goldberg reverses it into a body slam. Around the
0:52 mark, Scott Steiner lifted Goldberg into the air with a Two Handed
Choke Lift. Steiner continued to dominate much of this match until
around the 5 minute mark when Brock Lesnar attacked him. At the 5:12
mark, Brock Lesnar and Goldberg nailed Steiner with a double powerbomb,
but then Triple H appeared and brutally attacked Goldberg.
Finally,
the referee was able to get Brock Lesnar and Triple H out of the ring, which led to Goldberg giving Scott Steiner a spear in the middle of the ring. Next, Goldberg lifted Scott Steiner into the air to hit his finishing maneuver, The Jackhammer, for the victory at 9:49.
